Goldens stay in your heart forever. Who can dispute it who has ever owned one? They are smart, intuitive, people friendly and cat friendly. How many dogs are cat friendly? Goldens are. I used to have an orange cat named Morris and she would sleep on top of my goldens and especially Taffy, who was the same golden color. When they were asleep together, you could barely tell where one began and the other ended.
Golden Retrievers love to be with you. They never reject you. When you are ready to play, they are too. When you are ready to nap, they are too. They swim, retrieve, hike or just hang out. They watch television and can get quite inquisitive if a dog show is on.
A golden is certainly a commitment but everyone doesn’t consider using that word. They see a golden as a partner and a lifetime friend to have adventures with. A dog to be by your side in good times, sad times and through changes that life can throw at us. Simply put, a golden is family.
You can see the age of BJ on the left. The grey hair usually forms around the eyes first(we call them coon eyes) and then goes down their nose . Certainly BJ is an old and wise sage in this picture. And, you can see EJ (Emerald Jade) on the right. EJ is the younger version of BJ but certainly not a replacement. She is there to give BJ a renewed sense of energy and youthful joy. Having a youngin around to play with certainly does that.
